Can’t help but liken Jane to Sherlock. They’re both extremely, unbelievably observant, although Jane seems to understand emotions and social situations better than Sherlock, and he conforms to them easier.
Then again the Mentalist does trace its origin back to Sherlock. But it does something of…
May I say, preach to this post? Because…. PREACH! I always think that Jane is an interesting take on Sherlock character. And I love Bruno for that.
The immediate dislike between Sherlock and Anderson… The way he “resent” this forensic team member. I thought I saw this kind of scene before, but not sure where or when.
Then I realized the infamous quote of Jane “He irks me. He’s irksome” to the forensic member on Mentalist pilot. Of course that quote was much more polite than “You lower the IQ of the whole street” but there was quote before that was kinda as amazing as lower the IQ when Jane insulted him: “You’re a ghoul. If you don’t get horny reading Fangoria, I’m Britney Spears “
Oh man, I think I found more reasons why I fond of these two characters. I blamed The Reichenbach Fall which made couldn’t stop thinking about every moment on Sherlock.
John: You’d care if they thought you were stupid or wrong.
Sherlock: No, that would just make them stupid or wrong.
